Precautions for daily use of stainless steel flange

Stainless steel flange connection is convenient to use and can bear large pressure. Flange connection is widely used in industrial pipelines.

1. In order to prevent inter eye corrosion caused by flange cover heating, the welding current should not be too large, which is about 20% smaller than that of carbon steel electrode. The arc should not be too long, the interlayer cooling should be fast, and the weld bead should be narrowed.

2. Electrodes shall be kept dry during use. The titanium calcium type shall be dried under 150 for 1 hour, and the low a hydrogen type shall be dried under 200-250 for 1 hour, so as to prevent dirt such as oil sticking on the coating electrode coating, so as not to increase the carbon content of the weld and affect the quality of the weldment.

3. When welding stainless steel flange pipe fittings, repeated heating will precipitate carbides, reducing corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

4. The hardenability of stainless steel flange pipe fittings after welding is higher than that of American standard flange, which is easy to crack. If the same type of chromium stainless steel electrode is used for welding, it must be preheated above 300 and cooled slowly around 700 after welding. If heat treatment cannot be carried out after welding, stainless steel flange electrode shall be used.

5. For stainless steel flange, in order to improve corrosion resistance and weldability, add an appropriate amount of stable elements such as Ti, Nb, Mo, etc. Weldability is better than chrome stainless steel flange. When the same type of chromium stainless steel flange electrode is used, it shall be preheated above 200 and tempered at about 800 after welding. If the weldment cannot be heat treated, stainless steel flange electrode shall be used.

6. Stainless steel flange fittings and welding electrodes for welding flanges have good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. They are widely used in chemical industry, chemical fertilizer, petroleum and medical machinery manufacturing.
